Role Summary

Join NVIDIA’s Networking Silicon engineering team as a Senior Synthesis CAD Engineer. You will develop and improve RTL-to-PNR synthesis flows, tools, and methodologies to meet demanding power, performance, and area (PPA) targets for high-speed communication devices.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on synthesis methodology, flow automation, and cross-team integration.

• Design, refine, and deploy synthesis flows to achieve PPA objectives.
• Define interfaces, constraints, and handoffs between Front-End design and Place & Route teams; resolve cross-flow issues.
• Develop and maintain scalable Tcl/Python scripts to improve flow turnaround time and reliability.
• Integrate automation capabilities (including AI/ML where applicable) into production runs.
• Provide deep-dive debugging for complex tool failures and deliver formal synthesis training and support to project teams.

Requirements

• Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on experience with VLSI synthesis flows and demonstrated expertise with Synopsys Fusion Compiler or Design Compiler (DC-Top/DC-Ultra).
• Must-have: Strong proficiency in Tcl or Python scripting in a production CAD/EDA environment.
• Must-have: Proven ability to own methodology deployment, drive process improvements, and complete complex tasks with strong ownership.
• Must-have: Experience working across synthesis, front-end design teams and downstream P&R flows.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Synopsys DC/FC/PT toolchain and Cadence Genus/Innovus/Tempus.
• Experience owning methodology/flow definition across synthesis, P&R, or STA steps.
• Experience integrating AI/ML automation into EDA flows.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
