Role Summary
Senior software architect responsible for defining and driving software architectures for Ethernet switch ASIC-based networking platforms used in data center, telco, and edge AI/ML systems.
Work within a cross-functional engineering organization to specify switching software stacks, Linux kernel networking, and embedded networking software; represent the team in standards bodies, open-source projects, and customer engagements.
Experience Level
Senior-level β requires substantial experience (12+ years) in embedded networking software, including at least 5 years acting as a Software Architect for major modules.
Responsibilities
You will define architectures, evaluate technologies, and lead cross-team execution to deliver high-performance switching software.
- Explore and evaluate networking technologies, protocols, hardware/software capabilities, and open-source drivers to shape platform direction.
- Identify new technologies, partners, and initiatives aligned with the product roadmap.
- Define robust architectures and technical requirements for embedded software to meet AI/ML workload and high-performance networking needs.
- Lead R&D and Validation collaboration; provide technical guidance, design reviews, and test-plan oversight.
- Contribute as a member of the next-generation switch definition team.
- Collaborate closely with chip design, firmware, hardware platform, and system teams.
- Coordinate with product marketing, program managers, and account managers to drive project execution.
- Lead customer engagements for advanced, edge, and pioneering deployments.
- Produce patents, white papers, and participate in technical forums and industry working groups.
- Design and implement proofs-of-concept to validate new ideas.
Requirements
Must-have experience and skills.
- 12+ years of embedded software development for networking products, with 5+ years serving as a Software Architect for significant modules.
- Expert knowledge of Ethernet/IP technologies, network topologies, and data-center/telco/edge networking features.
- Strong embedded software design skills and operating system fundamentals.
- Proven track record of researching and integrating emerging technologies into practical solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and successful project ownership.
- Clear verbal and written communication; ability to build consensus across large organizations.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.
- Professional-level English and local language proficiency.
Nice-to-have:
- Broad knowledge of Switch ASIC hardware, SDKs, and network operating systems (NOS).
- Deep Linux kernel and networking expertise.
- Ability to prototype and deliver initial implementations to demonstrate value.
Education Requirements
