Role Summary
Design and deliver low-level embedded software and firmware for automotive microcontrollers and processors on NXP SoCs. Work on AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR platforms, drive architecture decisions, collaborate with hardware, systems and validation teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of low-level software development and technical leadership.
- Design and implement embedded low-level software (drivers, firmware) for automotive microcontrollers and processors.
- Own the full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, system, validation, customers) to deliver solutions.
- Drive architecture and implementation decisions, enforce coding standards and best practices (e.g., AUTOSAR, ASPICE).
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
- Contribute to process improvements, CI/CD practices and build/tooling where applicable.
- May perform security-related tasks and work to meet security certification requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- Strong experience in embedded C programming and low-level software development.
- Deep understanding of microcontrollers, CPU architecture, memory systems and interrupts.
- Advanced debugging skills on embedded targets and low-level software.
- Proven experience across the software development lifecycle (requirements through test).
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice-to-have
- Experience with automotive and general-purpose peripherals (UART, DMA, timers).
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR standards, tooling and methodologies.
- Experience with memory devices and storage stacks (flash, UFS, eMMC), bootloaders and OTA.
- Familiarity with ARM architectures (Cortex-M7, Cortex-R52, Cortex-M0+) and ARM firmware specs (SCMI, PSCI).
- RTOS experience (AUTOSAR OS, FreeRTOS) and ability to read schematics to understand HW/SW interactions.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, scripting, makefiles and build systems.
