Senior Support Application Engineer - Calibre DS
Role Summary
The Support Application Engineer provides technical support and deployment assistance for Siemens EDA physical verification software (Calibre DS) to customers. This role works with customers and internal teams to resolve verification and design issues, deliver technical presentations, and create knowledge-base content.
Position is part of the Customer Services / Software team and involves remote and on-site customer engagement as required.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting specifies a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in IC design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting customers, deploying software, and communicating issues and requirements across teams.
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, electronic channels, and on-site visits.
- Assist customers in deploying Siemens EDA physical verification software to solve design challenges.
- Track and update customer issues using Siemens EDA processes and tracking tools.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations and training on product features and updates.
- Create and maintain technical content for the product knowledge base.
- Escalate and communicate customer technical requirements and issues to product and sales teams.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience, plus a few desirable qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in IC design.
- Good understanding of custom/ASIC design flow and physical verification.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Proven experience with Siemens EDA Calibre tools (required).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to learn new technologies and solve technical problems.
- Nice-to-have: scripting experience (Tcl, Python, Perl) and knowledge of competitive EDA tools in physical implementation/verification.
Education Requirements
Required: MSc or BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) as stated in the posting.
