Senior / Staff Verification Engineer - RF/TIA (Analog Mixed Signal)
Marvell TechnologyJob Title
Senior / Staff Verification Engineer - RF/TIA (Analog Mixed Signal)
Role Summary
Design and verify FET and BiCMOS circuits for high-speed broadband ICs (TIAs, drivers) within the Broadband Analog group. The role owns verification of major blocks or entire chips and works with design and layout teams to meet performance and specification targets.
The work supports higher data throughput, lower power, and reliability for data center and metro/long-haul network applications.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 4–8 years of experience in analog IC design or verification.
Responsibilities
Lead verification efforts and deliver DV plans, testbenches, and coverage for broadband analog ICs.
- Own verification of major blocks or entire broadband ICs.
- Develop and implement mixed-signal verification (DV) plans based on architecture and specifications.
- Create test cases to ensure full chip-level functionality and coverage.
- Design and develop verification testbenches using industry-standard verification languages and methodologies.
- Review and analyze verification results and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
- Maintain documentation of verification plans, test results, and design changes.
- Collaborate with design and layout teams to identify and resolve design issues.
- Work with multiple technologies and process nodes, including SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; a few listed items are preferred but not mandatory.
- 4–8 years in analog IC design or verification.
- Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design and verification principles.
- Experience with EDA/CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Assembler, Spectre and AMS simulators.
- Foundational knowledge in transistor-level design, control/feedback loop stability, AGC loop design, and RF/high-speed broadband techniques.
- Experience with high-precision analog circuits (linear regulators, current sensors, bandgaps, DACs, ADCs).
- Project experience across different technologies and process nodes; SiGe BiCMOS experience is a plus.
- Programming/scripting skills (Python required); Verilog/Verilog-A is a plus.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
- Organized approach to track specification compliance and verification results for an entire chip.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BS EE) is indicated; a Master's degree (MSc) in high-performance analog/mixed-signal design or verification is preferred. Fields mentioned include high-performance analog/mixed-signal design and verification and RF/high-speed techniques.
