SynopsysJob Title
Senior Staff Verification Engineer, High-Speed Interconnect
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer responsible for verification of high-speed interconnect IP and related subsystems. The role leads verification strategy, develops and maintains advanced verification environments, and coordinates with design and system teams to deliver correct, high-performance silicon.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience, with significant hands-on work in verification planning, testbench development, and silicon bring-up.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification planning, environment development, and cross-team coordination.
- Define and drive verification strategy and plans for high-speed interconnect IP or subsystems.
- Design and implement testbenches using SystemVerilog/UVM and verification IP.
- Create directed tests, constrained-random tests, coverage models, and functional coverage goals.
- Run simulations, debug failures, and work with design teams to root-cause and resolve issues.
- Integrate and validate verification environments with emulation/FPGA prototypes and CI systems.
- Mentor and review work of junior engineers; contribute to verification best practices and tooling.
- Produce verification reports and signoff artifacts for design milestones.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience followed by useful additions.
- Must-have: Extensive experience in ASIC/SoC functional verification, including hands-on SystemVerilog and UVM testbench development.
- Must-have: Strong debug skills with common simulators and tools (e.g., VCS, Questa) and scripting (Python/Tcl/Perl).
- Must-have: Prior experience verifying high-speed serial interfaces or interconnects and closing coverage and bug objectives.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation/FPGAs, formal verification, performance validation, or protocol-specific verification IP (PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes).
