Senior Staff Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer on the Infrastructure Processor Business Unit working on multi-core SoC CPUs and Radio Access SoCs. Responsible for architecture and implementation of functional verification environments, verification methodology, and tools to validate complex, high-performance SoC designs.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical qualifications listed: Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years related experience, or Master’s/PhD with 3+ years experience.
Responsibilities
The role centers on building verification environments and tests, debugging silicon/design issues, and creating tools to support scalable verification.
- Define verification architecture, reference models, and bus-functional monitors/drivers.
- Create verification test plans using random techniques and coverage-driven approaches.
- Develop directed and randomized tests and tune environments to meet coverage goals.
- Debug failures and collaborate with designers to resolve issues.
- Verify boot code and develop/maintain tools for multi-core SoC verification in parallel compute environments.
- Transform engineering requirements into scalable, user-friendly software tools.
- Perform unit and regression testing of verification software and infrastructure.
Requirements

- Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM (must-have).
- Proven experience building sophisticated directed and randomized verification environments and writing detailed test plans (must-have).
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Perl and familiarity with EDA verification tools (must-have).
- Object-oriented design and implementation experience (must-have).
- Good understanding of Linux operating systems (must-have).
- Strong programming skills desired; C++ and ARM assembly are a plus (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of networking protocols (nice-to-have).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to learn quickly and operate with minimal supervision (must-have soft skills).
- Candidate must be eligible to access export-controlled technology where required (must-have).
Education Requirements
Degree preferred: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of related professional experience; alternatively a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of related experience.
