Job Title

Senior Hardware Test Engineer

Role Summary

Build, debug, and manage global hardware infrastructure (Hardware Farm) used for silicon validation within the Silicon Co-design Group. Ensure availability and integrity of farm systems to support validation of GPUs, SoCs, and CPUs across consumer, professional, server, mobile, and automotive products.

Experience Level

Senior level. Guideline: 5+ years of experience in the hardware/silicon domain.

Responsibilities

Maintain and improve farm infrastructure, lead critical debugs, and coordinate globally to ensure systems are available for validation.

  • Oversee functionality of a large Hardware Farm comprising GPU, SoC, and CPU systems unified by software.
  • Perform hardware and software debugs involving PCBs, voltage regulators, OS, drivers, and firmware.
  • Create and run test plans and automation scripts for system sanity checks; identify and fix infrastructure or script issues.
  • Coordinate with global farm and silicon validation teams to resolve technical blockers and drive debugs to closure.
  • Collaborate with farm development and location leads to improve processes and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement automated monitoring and alerting to detect and address farm issues in real time.
  • Analyze performance metrics and trends to identify optimization opportunities and drive strategic improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities; concise list of core qualifications.

  • In-depth knowledge of motherboard platforms, SoCs, PC hardware components, and network connections.
  • Strong expertise with Linux internals and experience with scripting (Python, Perl, TCL) for automation and tooling.
  • Proven ability to debug hardware and software interactions across boards, power systems, firmware, drivers, and OS.
  • Experience developing automation, monitoring, and alerting systems for test infrastructure.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills; ability to mentor team members and work across global teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience driving technical issues to resolution.

Education Requirements

B.E. / B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in the HW/silicon domain.
