Senior/Staff Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior/Staff Verification Engineer will lead verification activities for Arm Systems IPs and subsystems, with emphasis on machine-learning and advanced system workloads. The role focuses on verification strategy, development of verification environments, formal and simulation-based techniques, and hardware prototyping validation.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff). Typical candidates will have extensive verification experience; roles at this level commonly expect ~7+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of verification efforts, hands-on development, and collaboration across design and software teams.
- Define and own verification strategy and sign-off criteria for IPs and subsystems.
- Design and implement verification environments and testbenches (UVM/SystemVerilog or equivalent).
- Develop and run simulation, emulation and formal/model-checking flows to verify complex corner cases.
- Validate hardware prototypes and coordinate system-level verification with software and architecture teams.
- Drive automation, verification infrastructure improvements and coverage-driven verification.
- Mentor and lead other verification engineers; perform design reviews and verification planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug and resolve complex system issues.

Must-have:
- Proven experience in hardware verification for ASIC/SoC projects.
- Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and industry verification methodologies (e.g. UVM) or equivalent.
- Experience with simulation and formal verification / model checking tools and methodologies.
- Strong debugging skills across RTL, simulation logs and prototype hardware.
- Ability to define verification plans, coverage metrics and drive to closure.
- Effective communication and leadership skills for mentoring and cross-team collaboration.

Nice-to-have:
- Experience with machine-learning IPs, system-level verification or accelerator IP.
- Familiarity with hardware prototyping, emulation platforms or model-based verification frameworks.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell) and experience improving verification infrastructure.
