Senior Staff Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Owner of test engineering activities for new product introduction (NPI): silicon bring-up, sampling, qualification/characterization, and production test program release. Work with product engineering and cross-functional teams to design test hardware, develop ATE test programs, and optimize test time and yield.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include test planning, hardware design, and test program development across NPI and production phases.

• Define test plans for sampling, qualification, characterization, and production.
• Design ATE test hardware and test fixtures for high-performance devices.
• Implement and validate production and characterization test programs on ATE platforms.
• Lead new silicon bring-up activities and debug failures with cross-functional teams.
• Optimize test time, yield, and test cost for production.
• Collaborate with design, program management, quality, and operations to move projects through NPI milestones.

Requirements

Technical must-haves and preferred skills for successful performance in the role.

• Must-have: Experience designing complex ATE hardware and understanding mixed-signal ATE principles.
• Must-have: Strong foundation in Design for Test (DFT) and experience testing high-speed interfaces (NRZ/PAM).
• Must-have: Proficiency in test development programming (Python, Visual Basic, or C) and familiarity with oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers.
• Must-have: Hands-on experience with production testers (examples: Advantest 93K, Teradyne Ultraflex or equivalent ATE platforms) is required or strongly preferred.
• Nice-to-have: Prior work optimizing test time and yield for high-speed mixed-signal devices; experience specifically on Advantest 93K or Teradyne UFLEX.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with test automation and characterization workflows for NPI.

Education Requirements
