Senior Staff Supplier Quality Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Staff Supplier Quality Engineer will manage supplier quality for AI High Density Power Modules, acting as a regional liaison to subcontracted manufacturers and component suppliers. The role enforces inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures, supports audits and risk mitigation, and drives continuous improvement across the supplier base.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as liaison between regional suppliers and Renesas; support subcontracted manufacturing and component suppliers.
- Manage quality excursions; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support process and material change control, site certification and audit activities.
- Collaborate with component suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications for power modules.
- Support PCB assembly and SMT processes and enforce process controls for passives and embedded substrates.
- Identify quality trends, manage projects and influence cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Capture and disseminate lessons learned and best practices to improve supplier quality performance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers; apply structured problem-solving to resolve issues.
Requirements
Must-have experience and skills:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant supplier quality management experience, including supplier selection, ongoing quality improvement, and manufacturing excursion response management.
- Strong technical knowledge of advanced semiconductor packaging (e.g., multi-chip modules, wafer-level chip-scale packages).
- Experience with semiconductor module assembly processes, passive components (inductors, capacitors), and embedded substrate processes and controls.
- Proven experience in PCB assembly, particularly surface mount technology (SMT).
- Hands-on experience with structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analysis.
- Familiarity with quality engineering tools and methodologies: FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA.
- Understanding of standards and audit methodology: ISO9001, IATF16949, VDA6.3.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
Minimum: BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Required certifications: certified/qualified auditor for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3. No explicit equivalent-experience clause was provided.
