Job Title

Principal FPGA / RTL Design Engineer - Signal Processing

Role Summary

Senior technical contributor on the FPGA engineering team responsible for RTL design and implementation of signal-processing blocks for MIMO wireless systems. Works with systems, RF, and software engineers from concept through field deployment on mission-critical communications products.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role requires substantial hands-on FPGA/RTL experience (see requirements for years of experience).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include development, verification, and deployment of FPGA signal-processing designs.

  • Architect and implement fixed-point signal-processing blocks for wireless communications.
  • Write RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), develop testbenches, and run simulations.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and multi-clock-domain design work.
  • Hardware verification and troubleshooting; use of logic analyzers and lab test equipment.
  • Support RF and software engineering teams during integration and field testing.
  • Participate in R&D activities from prototype to field deployment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security, and screening requirements.

  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated RTL design and FPGA implementation experience (note: advanced degree may alter experience expectations; see Education Requirements).
  • Proven experience with fixed-point binary arithmetic and DSP implementations in FPGA.
  • Strong RTL design skills in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with front-end RTL tool flows, FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and high-utilization designs.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs/SoCs and the Vivado toolchain.
  • Experience working across multiple clock domains and complex FPGA architectures.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for work on U.S. government contracts).
  • Employment contingent on background check and drug testing.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field. Preferred: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. An advanced degree may reduce the practical experience threshold (the posting indicates 10 years' experience required, or 8 years with an advanced degree).
