Job Title

Senior/ Staff Signal and Power Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

Perform signal- and power-integrity analysis, simulation, and validation for high-speed package, PCB and system-level designs. Work with PCB layout, packaging, silicon and validation teams to deliver robust, manufacturable products.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical industry experience: 5+ years.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include simulation, analysis, documentation, and cross-team collaboration to ensure SI/PI compliance and manufacturability.

  • Perform SI and PI analysis for high-speed package, PCB and system designs.
  • Run 2D and 3D EM simulations to evaluate interconnects and mitigate crosstalk, impedance mismatch, and loss.
  • Model and optimise power distribution networks (power planes, decoupling, IR drop).
  • Execute frequency- and time-domain simulations for high-speed interfaces and channel behaviour.
  • Perform channel simulations and system-level analysis using circuit simulators.
  • Provide layout guidance, support ECO cycles, and participate in design reviews with actionable SI/PI recommendations.
  • Correlate simulations with lab measurements and support debugging of SI/PI issues.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout, hardware, packaging, and validation teams to ensure design-for-manufacture.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Candidates should be able to work independently and communicate results clearly.

  • Strong fundamentals in electromagnetics, transmission lines, and microwave theory.
  • Hands-on experience with EM simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS, SI‑Wave, or Cadence Power-SI.
  • Experience with circuit analysis/simulation tools (e.g., ADS, HSpice) and handling IBIS/Spice models.
  • Experience in power plane modelling and PDN analysis using tools like Power-SI or similar.
  • Working knowledge of package and PCB technologies, stack-up analysis, DFM, and material behavior.
  • Proficiency in time- and frequency-domain analysis of high-speed signalling.
  • Experience scripting for test automation or data analysis (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: hands-on lab measurement experience with VNA, oscilloscopes, TDR and spectrum analyzers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
