Senior/Staff RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for RTL design of one or more functional units within micro-controller and application-processor products. Work with architecture, verification, modeling, validation, and implementation teams to deliver functional blocks that meet performance, power, and area (PPA) targets.
Experience Level
Senior-level; the posting prefers candidates with approximately 8β10 years of ASIC RTL/CPU/SoC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Interpret high-level specifications and requirements for functional units.
- Define micro-architecture for assigned units and implement RTL through full design stages.
- Collaborate with verification to develop test plans and achieve verification closure.
- Analyze synthesis and timing reports and address critical issues to meet PPA goals.
- Coordinate with modeling, validation, and implementation teams for integration and delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (degree requirements are listed separately below):
- Proven ASIC front-end logic design experience, including RTL coding and front-end signoff tools.
- Experience in complex designs (data-path or control-path).
- Practical experience with CPU or micro-controller designs, including multi-pipeline implementations.
- Understanding of SoC subsystems; familiarity with operating-system software is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS/MS) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience will be considered.
