Job Title

Senior/Staff RFIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and develop radio-frequency integrated circuits and mixed-signal blocks for wireless transceivers (4G/5G/6G, WLAN, BT, GPS) using advanced process technologies. Contribute to transistor-level design, circuit analysis, simulation, layout collaboration and hardware bring-up within an RFIC design team.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical background includes multiple years of RF/analog IC and ASIC design or verification experience (see Education Requirements for degree expectations).

Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on analog/RF blocks and verify their performance from simulation through layout and test.

  • Define circuit topology and perform transistor-level design for RF transceivers and blocks.
  • Run detailed simulations to evaluate performance across conditions and iterate designs.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers on floor-planning, layout generation and physical verification.
  • Write and execute test plans; analyze measurement data and debug issues in silicon.
  • Apply tools/techniques (including neural networks where applicable) for circuit optimization and analysis.
  • Document designs, results and trade-offs; contribute technical input to the team.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

Must-have:

  • Hands-on RF/analog IC design experience (LNA, PLL, synthesizers, transmitter/receiver blocks) at transistor level.
  • Practical experience with circuit simulation and CAD tools such as Cadence, Virtuoso, ADS (experience with two or more preferred).
  • ASIC design or verification experience and familiarity with mixed-signal integration.
  • Experience collaborating on layout and performing/assisting physical verification.
  • Ability to write test plans, analyze results and debug circuit-level issues.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation/modeling, digital control and signal processing applied to RFICs.
  • Product development experience from conception through commercialization and working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Experience applying machine learning or neural-network techniques to circuit optimization.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field are cited in the posting. The posting lists combinations such as: Bachelor's plus RF/analog and ASIC experience; Master's with relevant ASIC experience; or PhD. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable as stated in the qualifications.
