Senior Staff Project/Program Design
Role Summary
Lead end-to-end program management for NPI products in Renesas's AI and infrastructure power portfolio, including controllers, smart power stages, power modules, DC/DC regulators, and discrete MOSFETs. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time product launches, ramp readiness, and process standardization across global sites.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires a minimum of 12+ years in the semiconductor industry and at least 6+ years as an NPI Program Manager.
Responsibilities
Accountable for planning, tracking, and executing complex hardware product programs from concept through market launch.
- Lead cross-functional teams across Design, Marketing, Systems & Applications, Validation, Product & Test Engineering, Firmware/Software, Supply Chain, Procurement, Packaging, and Quality for NPI releases.
- Manage end-to-end program planning, tracking, milestones, and gate reviews to ensure launch readiness and decision clarity.
- Drive process discipline, budget alignment, and global process standardization to improve execution efficiency.
- Coordinate capacity-expansion initiatives with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to enable scalable production.
- Identify program risks early and implement mitigation plans; adapt in complex, ambiguous environments.
- Oversee wafer fabrication, assembly, test operations, and material logistics to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Provide structured program updates to leadership, maintain accurate schedules and qualification plans, and use PM tracking systems to report status and recommended actions.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role successfully.
- Minimum 12+ years semiconductor industry experience; at least 6+ years as an NPI Program Manager.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional programs in fast-paced environments.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing flows, package architectures, development and production processes.
- Program/project management training or certification.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and partnership skills across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and OSAT partners.
- Highly analytical with strong organization, problem-solving, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern project management tools.
- Self-driven, inquisitive, and committed to continuous professional development.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Module, Controller and Smart Power Stages programs; prior experience at a fab or assembly site as a process or integration engineer.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required; PhD preferred.
