Job Title
Senior Staff Product/Program Manager — Semiconductor NPI (Analog/Power)
Role Summary
Lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for analog and power semiconductor products across industrial and automotive markets. Drive programs from concept through tape-out and production release, coordinating design, test, manufacturing, validation, and external partners.
Act as program manager for multiple concurrent projects or a single large program, ensuring schedules, budgets, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment.
Experience Level
Senior — requires substantial experience. The role specifies 7+ years of hands-on technical program/project management and at least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning, execution, cross-functional leadership, and reporting for NPI programs.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, and risks from inception to start of production.
- Lead cross-functional teams: design, test, product engineering, validation, marketing, systems, applications, operations, planning, factories, and vendors.
- Perform or coordinate evaluation, debug, and characterization of ICs to meet product and manufacturing requirements.
- Design evaluation PCBs and characterization programs for bench evaluations.
- Work with failure analysis to determine root cause for reliability and qualification failures; lead corrective actions.
- Analyze characterization and yield data using statistical tools to set production test limits and predict yield.
- Collaborate with process and package technology teams to develop and qualify technologies for new products.
- Coordinate with global manufacturing to address quality, yield, and cost issues for mature products, including product spins and derivatives.
- Monitor and report program KPIs and status to senior management and stakeholders; drive process improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and working behaviors expected for success in this role.
- 7+ years hands-on technical program/project management leading cross-functional teams for broad-market or custom Power/Analog/Mixed-Signal products.
- At least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor domain with strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and development.
- Experience managing multiple parallel projects and maintaining project schedules under competing priorities and tight turnarounds.
- Strong problem-solving, verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills; ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with JEDEC and AEC qualification standards.
- Familiarity with ATE tester platforms (examples: Teradyne, Eagle).
- Proficiency with statistical analysis and data tools (example: Spotfire) to analyze characterization and yield data.
- Proficient with project-management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, DFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Microsoft OneNote.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage time, and take initiative to drive results.
- Nice-to-have: experience with back-end semiconductor processes (wafer fabrication, bump, packaging, assembly, test) and manufacturing/yield improvement projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is specified.
