Role Summary
As a Senior Staff Product Engineer based in Hsinchu, you will lead transition and sustainment of Marvell's optical products—silicon photonic light engines, pluggable modules, and co-packaged optics—working with internal teams, vendors, and contract manufacturers in Asia. The role focuses on driving yield, production readiness, and cross-disciplinary engineering coordination.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 4+ years of industry experience and expects extensive manufacturing experience in optical/opto-electronic products.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include NPI-to-volume transition, yield improvement, and production support.
- Transition NPI products to volume production with internal teams and contract manufacturers.
- Sustain and improve production yield for silicon photonics, optical transceiver modules, subassemblies, and related opto-electronic devices.
- Implement and monitor automatic in-process controls and regular yield metrics.
- Lead production line failure analysis and failure disposition at chip/Silicon photonics and optical sub-assembly levels.
- Proactively manage production risks in coordination with PTE, SQE, and planning groups.
- Co-own product lifecycle with US module product engineering team across design, production, and sustainment.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted separately.
-
Must-have: 4+ years industry experience in product and test engineering for volume production of silicon photonics, optical transceivers, or other opto-electronic devices.
-
Must-have: Strong knowledge of silicon photonics device physics, design, process development, and troubleshooting.
-
Must-have: Experience with high-volume manufacturing, production yield improvement, and failure analysis.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with foundry, assembly, and packaging processes for silicon photonics devices.
-
Must-have: Cross-disciplinary experience covering optics, mechanical, electrical, and firmware interfaces.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior NPI/manufacturing experience specifically on optical transceivers or co-packaged optics.
