Senior/Staff Product Engineer (GenAI, AI/ML & Advanced Data Analytics)

Role Summary

Work within the HIG HBM Product Engineering organization to design, build, and scale GenAI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions that improve semiconductor engineering productivity, quality, cost, and cycle time.

Collaborate with product, design, systems, data science, IT, and manufacturing teams to prototype and productionize AI-driven systems for engineering workflows.

Experience Level

Senior / Staff level. The posting indicates a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductors, electronics, or related engineering industries.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on building GenAI and ML systems, scalable data pipelines, and production-ready analytics to support semiconductor engineering workflows.

• Design and develop GenAI-powered and agentic systems for engineering tasks such as code generation, documentation automation, failure triage, and knowledge retrieval.
• Build scalable data pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and analyze large heterogeneous datasets from manufacturing and engineering systems.
• Perform advanced data analysis and visualization using Python, SQL, and data science libraries to produce actionable engineering insights.
• Engineer, evaluate, and optimize LLM-based workflows including prompting, RAG, inference orchestration, benchmarking, and quality evaluation.
• Develop and productionize ML/DL models for classification, regression, anomaly detection, and failure analysis.
• Implement data cleansing, outlier detection, and missing-data handling using distributed or large-scale frameworks (e.g., PySpark, BigQuery).
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operationalization of AI/ML solutions in cloud or enterprise environments.
• Partner with domain experts and cross-functional teams to translate engineering problems into scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Communicate technical findings and model outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for immediate contribution; preferred items listed separately.

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductors, electronics, or other engineering industries.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Proven experience with data analytics and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, plotly).
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems, including RAG, agentic workflows, and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and evaluation tools (examples: LangGraph, Google ADK, AutoGen, AgentEval).
• Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and deploying ML pipelines to production.
• Experience with LLM training, inference, prompt design, benchmarking, validation, and retrieval-augmented systems.
• Experience analyzing large, complex datasets and applying data cleansing, outlier handling, and missing-data techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, software development, and communication skills; ownership and engineering rigor.

Nice-to-have (preferred):

• Experience building agentic systems or AI solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, yield improvement, reliability, or failure analysis.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, MSSQL, Oracle, Redshift) and Kubernetes for production deployment.
• Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), computer vision, and document-processing/retrieval systems for engineering content.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
