Senior Staff Product Engineer
Marvell TechnologyJob Title
Senior Staff Product Engineer
Role Summary
Senior product engineer on the NPI/product engineering team for high-speed datacenter interconnect and storage controller silicon. Responsible for initial silicon bring-up, test development, yield analysis, and coordinating with NPI, test, foundry, reliability, and HVM teams to qualify products for production.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum 10 years in the semiconductor industry and at least 6 years in semiconductor manufacturing, with experience at 7nm process node or below.
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on early product qualification, defect and yield analysis, test development, and transitioning devices to volume production.
- Lead initial silicon bring-up and functional validation during new product introduction (NPI).
- Collaborate with NPI PE, Test, Foundry, Reliability, and HVM teams to develop test/DFT methodologies and resolve issues.
- Analyze wafer sort and final-test parametric data; perform data mining and statistical analysis to assess product performance and yield window.
- Characterize engineering samples and correlate bench results to manufacturing tests to meet cost and quality targets.
- Develop and debug test programs on ATE and support test engineering to resolve test-related issues.
- Plan and execute yield and test time improvement activities (debug, root cause, implement solutions) to meet mass-production release goals.
- Manage relationships with test subcontractors during early production stages and support volume sample supply for customer engagements.
- Work with HVM PE to drive production capacity improvements after release (test-time reduction, yield improvements, qualifying alternate sources).
Requirements
Key technical skills, tools, and constraints required for the role.
- Minimum 10 years in the semiconductor industry and at least 6 years in semiconductor manufacturing with experience at 7nm node or below.
- Proven knowledge of yield analysis and quality management tools, including GR&R, Cp, and Cpk.
- At least 5 years of experience with automatic test equipment (ATE); experience with Advantest 93K and UltraFlex, test handlers; wafer prober experience is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience in test development and debugging.
- Experience performing statistical data analysis on wafer-sort and final-test parametrics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently and collaborate across functions.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; candidates could be subject to export license review.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
