Senior Staff/Principal Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead digital design efforts for novel mixed-signal SoC products focused on connectivity and communications. Work with cross-functional teams (System, Software, RF, Analog, Test) to define product requirements, deliver RTL-to-physical digital implementations, and supply verification artifacts and test vectors needed for bring-up and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Deliver and lead end-to-end digital design and verification efforts; support architecture, scheduling, and cross-discipline integration.

• Contribute to and review SoC specifications and architectures.
• Front-to-back digital design and verification: RTL through physical implementation.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to design teams.
• Support schedule and resource planning and help close design/debug issues.
• Define and socialize digital/system design methodologies, implementation and test strategies/flows.
• Produce Verilog stimulus, testbenches, and test vectors for device bring-up, characterization, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with System, Software, RF, Analog, and Test teams to provide necessary support.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience (concise). A separate list of desirable skills follows.

• 10+ years of experience in digital SoC development and experience bringing highly integrated mixed-signal SoCs to commercial mass production.
• Deep RTL design expertise (Verilog, VHDL) and strong SystemVerilog-based verification skills, including assertions and checkers.
• Experience with front-end tools and flows: simulators, linters, clock-domain crossing checks, synthesis, static timing analysis, and full front-to-back F2B digital SoC flow.
• DFT and test experience: ATPG, fault grading, scan, BIST, DFT/DFM.
• Experience with embedded systems, wireless protocols, power management, signal processing, and standard digital interfaces.
• System modeling and verification experience using SystemVerilog or SystemC.
• Proven experience acquiring and integrating third-party IP.
• High-speed digital logic design experience (GHz+) and high-speed clock distribution.
• Proficiency with programming/scripting (C/C++, Perl, Tcl, Python).
• Strong communication, presentation, debugging, and mentorship abilities; demonstrated technical leadership.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Cadence front-to-back design tools.
• Experience with formal verification tools.
• Experience working effectively with incomplete or changing requirements; strong finish-oriented mindset.
• Deep knowledge of mixed-signal concepts beyond digital design.

Education Requirements
