Senior Staff Physical Design Engineer (2)
Role Summary
Lead backend/physical-design activities for MCU/MPU products targeting consumer, industrial and IoT markets. The role focuses on layout (placement & routing) and layout verification to meet quality, performance and cost targets.
Join a global backend team spanning Japan, China, Germany, Vietnam and India and apply modern EDA flows and automation to accelerate next-generation product development.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on layout implementation and verification for MCU/MPU products.
- Perform place-and-route (PnR) and layout implementation using ICC2 / FusionCompiler-BE / Innovus.
- Define floorplans and hierarchical block design; implement power network and analog routing as required by the design.
- Execute layout verification (PV) and signoff flows using Calibre / Pegasus and power verification with Voltus.
- Work with cross-site teams to improve quality, performance and cost competitiveness of backend flows.
Requirements
Core technical requirements and desirable skills.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge and experience in layout design and layout verification for LSI/IC projects.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with EDA toolchains (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens tools such as ICC2, FusionCompiler, Innovus, Calibre, Pegasus, Voltus).
- Experience collaborating with global development teams.
