Role Summary

Senior technical role responsible for pre-silicon verification of interface IP (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet) within SoC/PHY teams. Works with design, validation, and systems teams to ensure protocol compliance and silicon readiness.

Will lead verification strategy, drive complex debug, and mentor other engineers on verification best practices.

Experience Level

Senior-level (title indicates Senior Staff). Typically requires extensive industry experience; candidates are generally expected to have the depth to lead verification efforts and mentor others.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define and execute pre-silicon verification plans for interface IP blocks (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet).
• Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, directed tests, and protocol checkers.
• Create verification environments and stimulus for corner-case and compliance testing.
• Perform RTL-level debug, root-cause analysis, and cross-team defect resolution.
• Collaborate with designers, firmware, and systems teams to validate integrations and bring-up scenarios.
• Drive regression automation, coverage closure, and verification metrics reporting.
• Mentor and guide other verification engineers; contribute to hiring and technical reviews.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: Significant hands-on experience in pre-silicon verification of interface IP (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet).
• Must-have: Strong proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodology.
• Must-have: Solid RTL understanding and practical debug skills; experience debugging complex protocol interactions.
• Must-have: Experience with protocol compliance testing and validation at IP and subsystem level.
• Must-have: Scripting skills for automation and regression (Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar).
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with emulation, FPGA bring-up, formal verification, or performance analysis tools.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience leading verification teams or large verification projects.
