Role Summary

Lead ESD engineering for High Voltage BCD, power management, analog, and mixed-signal product development. Work with product design, foundry, and technology teams to define, implement, and qualify ESD and latch-up protection for automotive, industrial, power, and mixed-signal ICs.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies 5+ years of semiconductor ESD design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ESD/latch-up design, characterization, and cross-team coordination:

  • Support ESD and latch-up design reviews for High Voltage BCD products.
  • Design and optimize ESD protection structures for analog, power, and mixed-signal ICs.
  • Develop and maintain ESD design guidelines and best practices.
  • Perform ESD characterization using HBM, CDM, and TLP methodologies.
  • Support silicon debug, reliability investigations, and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with foundries and technology development teams.
  • Support development and qualification of ESD libraries and protection devices.
  • Participate in product risk assessment and drive ESD design sign-off with internal teams and customers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.

  • 5+ years of semiconductor ESD design experience.
  • Knowledge of ESD device physics, HBM, CDM, TLP methodologies, latch-up, and High Voltage BCD technologies.
  • Strong understanding of High Voltage BCD device structures, isolation techniques, and reliability challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with ESD protection design for analog, power, or mixed-signal products.
  • Familiarity with Cadence analog IC development flows.
  • Familiarity with ESD verification tools such as Calibre PERC.
  • Experience performing silicon characterization and failure analysis.
  • Technical writing skills and ability to communicate technical risks and recommendations across global teams.
