Senior Staff Engineer, Solutions Engineering
Role Summary
The Senior Staff Engineer will design and deliver IP compilers and embedded monitoring, test, diagnostic, and repair solutions for 3DIC optical interconnects within the SMS/SHS product portfolio. The role spans optical/photonic systems, co‑packaged optics, and multiphysics integration and includes technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include development, integration, and technical leadership for solutions that bridge optics, IC design, and multiphysics simulation.
- Design and implement IP compilers for embedded monitoring, test, diagnostics, and repair targeting 3DIC optical interconnects.
- Build and maintain a multiphysics simulation integration (bridge) with Ansys and collaborate on toolchain integration.
- Apply optical/photonic chip and co‑packaged opto‑electronic system expertise to produce production‑ready solutions.
- Develop and refine IC design flows using Verilog and SystemVerilog, ensuring alignment with EDA toolchains and AI‑assisted design methods.
- Lead technical discussions, make architecture and implementation decisions, and mentor engineering team members.
- Produce clear technical documentation for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Identify technical gaps, influence product roadmaps, and improve robustness and scalability of test/diagnostic frameworks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for immediate contribution.
- Demonstrated expertise in optical/photonic chip design and co‑packaged opto‑electronic test, diagnostics, and repair methodologies.
- Strong background in multiphysics simulation, including reliability, mechanical, stress, and thermal analysis.
- Hands‑on experience with IC design flows and RTL using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and workflow development.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Proven problem‑solving skills and ability to function effectively as a technical leader and mentor.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with communication interfaces and test standards such as IEEE 1687, 1500, 1838, or 1149.
- Familiarity with EDA tools and AI‑assisted design tools used in EDA workflows.
- Track record of technical leadership in cross‑functional engineering environments.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a closely related technical discipline.
