Job Title

Senior Staff Engineer, Product Marketing (AI datacenter infrastructure)

Role Summary

This senior product-marketing role defines and markets MCU-based platform-management and distributed control solutions for AI/datacenter server infrastructure. The role interfaces with hyperscalers, OEMs/ODMs, and ecosystem partners to translate system requirements into differentiated silicon, firmware, reference solutions, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans.

Experience Level

Senior - target candidate has 8+ years of relevant experience in system architecture, server platform management, embedded systems, semiconductor product definition, or technical product management.

Responsibilities

Lead product definition, market discovery, and go-to-market for MCU-based satellite and board-management controllers used alongside BMCs in server and rack systems.

  • Define MCU requirements and partitioning for platform management across compute, accelerator, storage, power, and cooling subsystems.
  • Create MRDs, business cases, roadmaps, investment priorities, and launch plans aligned to customer schedules and platform timelines.
  • Define use cases: power sequencing, sensor aggregation, telemetry, thermal management, fault reporting, recovery, and board housekeeping.
  • Translate standards and interoperability requirements (MCTP/PLDM/SPDM/Redfish) into product and protocol requirements.
  • Lead technical discovery and validation with hyperscaler platform teams, OEMs/ODMs, BMC vendors, accelerator teams, and power/cooling partners.
  • Support design-in and customer engineering: reference designs, SDKs, tools/GUIs, and interoperability testing.
  • Create positioning, messaging, sales enablement, competitive briefs, and customer-facing presentations.
  • Align cross-functional teams (silicon, firmware, software, applications, sales) and lead reviews for readiness and roadmap decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience; items below are required or strongly expected unless noted as preferred.

  • Proven experience in system architecture, server platform management, embedded systems, semiconductor product definition, or applications/technical product management.
  • Deep system knowledge of server motherboards, CPU/GPU/AI accelerator platforms, storage backplanes, and power/cooling subsystems and their management interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of BMC-based out-of-band management, satellite management controllers, MCU/RTOS firmware, and real-time vs system-level management boundaries.
  • Working knowledge of MCTP transport, PLDM (monitoring/control and firmware update), SPDM, and integration with BMC-hosted Redfish services.
  • Familiarity with sideband interfaces (I2C/SMBus, I3C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PMBus) and their implications for connectivity, latency, reliability, and MCU design.
  • Ability to create product requirements, business cases, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans; strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: experience with hyperscaler or enterprise servers, GPU/AI accelerator trays, rack/power-shelf management, fan or liquid-cooling controllers; OpenBMC integration; OCP DC-SCM/DC-SCI or modular server architectures; interoperability testing of MCTP/PLDM/SPDM endpoints; secure firmware features (secure boot, hardware root of trust, signed updates).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is stated; the posting specifies Bachelor’s or higher and references 8+ years of relevant experience. An advanced degree in engineering or business is listed as preferred, and the posting allows equivalent senior product-strategy experience in lieu of an advanced degree.
