Senior Staff Engineer, IC Systems Architect
Role Summary
The IC Systems Architect defines circuit-level architectures and verifies implementations for high-speed communications integrated circuits. This role partners with analog, digital, and firmware engineers to perform feasibility analysis, select fabrication processes, and ensure designs meet application requirements for data-center and networking products.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include translating system requirements into IC architectures and validating performance through modelling and feasibility analysis.
- Assess system-level requirements to meet target applications.
- Map system requirements onto integrated-circuit functional blocks.
- Collaborate with IC design team to balance power, performance, and cost trade-offs.
- Perform preliminary circuit-level feasibility studies for critical elements.
- Develop detailed models of IC and external components to project target performance.
- Develop algorithms for on-chip calibration and signal conditioning.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years direct industry experience in IC development for high-speed communications systems.
- Proven expertise in high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Thorough understanding of linear and non-linear channel simulation techniques.
- Deep knowledge of signal equalization techniques and clock-and-data recovery for wideband, multi-gigabit systems.
- Experience in circuit-level feasibility, modelling, and performance projection.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across analog, digital, and firmware teams.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering (as stated in the posting).
Estimated pay range: $120,000–$150,000.
