Senior Staff Engineer, Analog Mixed Signal Design
Role Summary
Senior mixed-signal IC designer in Research & Development responsible for architecture, circuit design, verification, and silicon bring-up for Automotive Ethernet products. The role spans simulation, modeling, layout planning oversight, lab characterization and cross-functional coordination across verification, test, reliability and production.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical experience guidance from the posting: PhD with ~3–5 years relevant experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with ~5–7 years relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and debugging of analog/mixed-signal ICs for automotive connectivity.
- Design and verify high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs for Automotive Ethernet products.
- Define circuit architectures and develop circuit solutions; perform simulation and modeling.
- Plan and supervise layout activities and handoff to layout teams.
- Perform lab characterization, silicon debug and root-cause analysis.
- Conduct design reviews and produce supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including verification, production test, reliability and quality.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or preferred.
- Must-have: Solid fundamentals in analog and linear circuit design and high-speed design with demonstrated working silicon.
- Must-have: Experience designing data converters (ADC/DAC), amplifiers, filters, references, regulators, PLLs/clocking, and high-linearity transmit drivers.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with simulation, modeling and lab characterization/silicon debug.
- Must-have: Clear communication and presentation skills; ability to drive cross-functional design activities.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with bidirectional analog front ends and signal-processing concepts.
- Nice-to-have: Design experience in FinFET process nodes.
Education Requirements
PhD in a relevant field with ~3–5 years of relevant experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with ~5–7 years of relevant experience as stated in the posting. (Degrees in electrical engineering or closely related technical fields were specified.)
