Role Summary

Lead analog and mixed-signal IP architecture and transistor-level design for Renesas' Power Business Unit, focusing on power management and multi-phase controller solutions. Own design from specification through silicon validation, production qualification, and manufacturing support, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small engineering team.

Responsibilities

Deliver and lead complex analog/mixed-signal IP development across design, integration, verification, and production.

• Architect, design, and deliver high-performance analog and mixed-signal IPs (examples: LDOs, charge pumps, oscillators, temperature sensors, current-sense circuits, SAR ADCs, protection circuits, bandgaps, op-amps, level shifters).
• Drive circuit-architecture and design optimizations to meet performance, power, area, yield, and reliability targets.
• Lead IP development through architecture, transistor-level implementation, layout integration, post-layout verification, silicon bring-up, and production qualification.
• Collaborate with layout and system teams on floorplanning, parasitic-aware design, and chip-level integration trade-offs.
• Develop and optimize simulation and verification methodologies for pre- and post-layout flows, balancing accuracy and runtime.
• Define and review chip-level ESD, latch-up, and I/O protection strategies to ensure robustness and reliability.
• Establish analog design methodologies, review processes, and quality checklists to maximize first-pass silicon success.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead or manage a small team to drive execution and mitigate technical risks.

Requirements

• Must-have: 10+ years of hands-on experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design with ownership of transistor-level IP through silicon validation.
• Must-have: Deep knowledge of analog circuit design fundamentals and semiconductor device physics.
• Must-have: Practical expertise with process corners, Monte Carlo, mismatch, noise, extraction, post-layout simulation, and parasitic optimization.
• Must-have: Strong analog layout understanding and awareness of layout-dependent effects (LDE), ESD, latch-up, and chip-level reliability concerns.
• Must-have: Demonstrated experience across the complete IC development lifecycle: architecture, design, verification, silicon bring-up, debugging, qualification, and production support.
• Must-have: Proven technical leadership, mentoring, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Nice-to-have: Experience developing power management ICs, multi-phase controllers, or related mixed-signal subsystems.

Education Requirements
