Senior Staff Engineer, Analog Mixed Signal Design

Role Summary

Senior Staff Engineer on the Research & Development team responsible for architecture, design, verification and silicon bring-up of high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs for Automotive Ethernet products.

Work spans circuit design, simulation and modeling, layout planning and supervision, lab characterization and cross-functional support for verification, production testing, reliability and quality.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical background: PhD with ~3–5 years relevant experience or MS (EE) with ~5–7 years; substantial hands-on analog/mixed-signal design and silicon experience expected.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end mixed-signal IC development and cross-team integration.

  • Design and verify high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs for Automotive Ethernet.
  • Define circuit architecture and develop circuit solutions; perform simulation and modeling.
  • Plan and supervise layout and collaborate with layout engineers.
  • Perform lab characterization, silicon debug and root-cause analysis.
  • Conduct design reviews and produce technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with verification, test, reliability and quality teams throughout product development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Strong fundamentals in analog and linear circuit design and high-speed design techniques.
  • Hands-on experience designing data converters (ADC/DAC), amplifiers, filters, references, regulators, PLLs, clocking circuits and high-linearity transmit drivers with demonstrated working silicon.
  • Experience with lab characterization and silicon debug.
  • Ability to document designs and present clearly in cross-functional reviews.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with bidirectional analog front ends and signal-processing concepts.
  • Design experience in FinFET technology nodes.

Education Requirements

PhD (preferred) with ~3–5 years related experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with ~5–7 years related experience. (No other degree or certification requirements specified.)
