Works with cross-functional teams to meet performance, yield, and schedule targets for production hardware.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical candidates have substantial hardware engineering experience (commonly 6+ years and often 12+ years for principal responsibilities).

Responsibilities

Core duties include:

  • Plan, optimize, verify, and test critical electronic systems across digital, analog, RF, optical, FPGA, and DSP domains.
  • Lead or participate in advanced hardware design rule and process implementation.
  • Perform complex simulations and analyses to meet power, performance, and area targets.
  • Develop and integrate test solutions to improve yield, test time, and product quality.
  • Characterize and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions for advanced process technologies.
  • Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques and introduce automation and optimization to improve productivity.
  • Advise and lead engineering teams, review designs, and produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems, and architecture teams to incorporate new requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Extensive hands-on hardware engineering experience (design, verification, bring-up, or test) in advanced products.
  • Experience with circuit/logic design and validation across digital, analog, or RF domains.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience using hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
  • Ability to perform detailed simulations and trade-off analyses for power, performance, and area.
  • Experience developing manufacturing or test solutions and improving yield and test efficiency.
  • Technical leadership experience; ability to mentor and guide other engineers and influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to write/review technical documentation.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field plus 6+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 5+ years; OR PhD in those fields plus 4+ years. Preferred: Master's degree in a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
