Role Summary

Drive development and integration of automotive and robotic reference solutions on Renesas RCar system-on-chips. The role leads cross-team design and implementation of application software, firmware, and board support packages for heterogeneous architectures (application cores and real-time cores).

Primary focus areas include system bring-up, low-level driver debug, middleware and application integration on Linux, ROS2, and RTOS platforms for features such as Ethernet AVB/TSN, MIPI CSI-2, ISP, and common serial/peripheral interfaces.

Responsibilities

The role requires ownership of reference solution development, cross-team coordination, and hands-on system bring-up and debugging.

• Lead design and implementation of reference automotive and robotic solutions on RCar SoCs.
• Develop application software, firmware, and BSP across heterogeneous cores (Arm application cores and real-time cores).
• Perform system bring-up and debug low-level drivers on RCar-based hardware platforms.
• Integrate and validate peripherals and interfaces: Ethernet AVB/TSN, MIPI CSI-2, ISP, I2C, UART, GPT, etc.
• Collaborate with product teams and customers to deliver reference designs and integration guidance.

• Must-have: Expert proficiency in C/C++ (Modern C++) and Python.
• Must-have: Experience programming applications, BSP, and middleware on Linux, ROS2, Zephyr, or FreeRTOS.
• Must-have: Practical experience with Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker containerization.
• Must-have: Hands-on debugging experience with GDB and hardware debuggers; system bring-up experience on SoC-based platforms.
• Desired: Familiarity with object detection, lane keeping, SLAM, or sensor fusion algorithms.
• Desired: Knowledge of Functional Safety and ISO 26262.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
