Senior Staff Electrical Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Rad Hard Precision Design Group to design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for space applications. Work covers product conception through production, focusing on high-accuracy references, comparators, temperature sensors, low-power op-amps, LDOs and power management circuits.
The role is part of a multidisciplinary design team based in the Research Triangle Park area (Morrisville), NC or Palm Bay, FL.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Significant prior experience designing precision analog and mixed-signal ICs is expected; see Education Requirements for degree and years guidance.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Design analog and mixed-signal ICs from concept through production.
- Create clear design documentation and define macro specifications, interfaces, and physical implementation.
- Manage design schedule and coordinate with team members to meet milestones.
- Perform silicon evaluation, circuit debugging, and production test development.
- Provide customer and applications support and assist in qualification activities.
- Review and provide technical feedback on team documentation to ensure accuracy and engineering standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience in analog integrated circuit design, analysis, and simulation.
- Knowledge of bipolar, BiCMOS, and BCD process technologies.
- Experience designing high-precision analog circuits: amplifiers, comparators, regulators, oscillators, and references.
- Experience with Cadence analog and mixed-signal design/simulation tools.
- Hands-on lab experience with silicon validation and test equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with radiation-hardened products.
- Analog behavioral modeling (Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS) or MATLAB experience.
Education Requirements
MSEE (Master of Science in Electrical Engineering) with 6+ years of relevant industry experience, or PhD with 4+ years of relevant industry experience. Equivalent practical industry experience may be considered.
