Senior Staff Digital Verification Engineer
MaxLinearJob Title
Senior Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead digital verification for complex analog mixed-signal (AMS) SOC products in the Interface and Power Management portfolios. Drive verification strategy, coordinate with design, system and test teams, and deliver first-silicon success for mixed-signal and serial-interface designs.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years of relevant digital verification or ASIC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Architect block and full-chip digital verification strategies and environments (UVM, constrained random).
- Develop and maintain verification components such as agents, sequencers, monitors, and scoreboards.
- Define verification plans, implement coverage-driven methodologies, and drive coverage closure.
- Debug RTL and gate-level simulations and work with design engineers to verify fixes.
- Convert verification tests into ATE patterns and support vector bring-up with test engineering.
- Collaborate across design, system, and test teams to ensure robust first-silicon outcomes.
- Automate verification and analysis tasks using scripting.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience architecting verification environments using HVLs (UVM) and constrained-random techniques for SOCs.
- Experience verifying blocks, clusters, and full-chip ASICs with embedded CPUs and serial/mixed-signal interfaces.
- Ability to build testbench components: scoreboards, agents, sequencers, monitors.
- Strong RTL and gate-level simulation debugging skills and experience working with design engineers to verify fixes.
- Experience converting verification tests to ATE vectors and supporting test engineering on vector bring-up.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python) to automate verification tasks.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and clear written and verbal communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Domain experience in power-management ICs or serial-interface systems (USB controllers, USB-UART, USB-Ethernet, RS-485/232, PCIe-to-UART).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is preferred. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience (typically 7+ years) in lieu of a degree.
