Job Title

Senior Staff, DFT Engineering

Role Summary

Lead Design-for-Test (DFT) strategy and implementation for complex SoC projects within the Hardware Engineering team. Work with design, verification, and physical implementation teams to ensure robust test coverage, silicon bring-up, and producible, high-quality products.

Experience Level

Senior β€” role expects extensive hardware/DFT experience. The posting indicates degree-dependent minimums (see Education Requirements); preferred candidates have long-tenured hardware engineering experience and prior technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define and lead DFT architecture and methodology for complex SoCs (scan, BIST, boundary scan).
  • Drive scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, and JTAG strategies and flows.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and physical implementation teams to meet testability and yield targets.
  • Perform test coverage analysis and optimize coverage for silicon quality.
  • Mentor and guide engineers; promote DFT best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership and influence program- and product-level decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven track record implementing DFT for SoCs (scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, JTAG).
  • Hands-on experience with DFT toolsets such as Synopsys, Mentor Tessent, Cadence Modus.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and scripting (TCL, Perl, Python).
  • Experience performing test coverage analysis and supporting silicon bring-up.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with operating budgets/project financials and prior supervisory responsibility.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies degree-dependent minimum experience (examples include Bachelor's with ~6–8+ years, Master's with ~5–7+ years, PhD with ~4–6+ years); equivalent practical experience may be considered.
