Senior / Staff Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification efforts for complex SoC/IP designs through the full verification lifecycle: scoping, testplan creation, environment architecture, debugging, and coverage closure. Position is on the silicon engineering team based in Ahmedabad focused on delivering tape-out ready designs.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Preferably 5+ years of ASIC/SoC design verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focused on planning, building, and closing verification for blocks, sub-systems, or SoCs.

• Author and own feature-driven testplans from architectural and micro-architectural specs.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable constrained-random verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Define verification strategies at block, sub-system, and SoC levels, using simulation and formal techniques where applicable.
• Debug complex test failures, triage RTL/testbench defects, and collaborate with Design and Architecture teams for resolution.
• Implement and analyze functional and code coverage; drive verification closure to sign-off targets.
• Mentor junior verification engineers and participate in code and testplan reviews.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

• 5+ years of dedicated ASIC/SoC design verification experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SystemVerilog and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Extensive hands-on experience with UVM (sequences, drivers, monitors, scoreboards, predictors).
• Proven track record writing complex functional coverage and closing code/functional coverage.
• Expertise with industry debugging tools (e.g., Verdi, DVE) and systematic root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with on-chip protocols such as AXI, AHB, APB, PCIe, NVMe, USB, or Ethernet.
• Scripting experience (Python, Perl, or Tcl) and shell scripting to automate verification workflows.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; attention to detail and ownership mindset.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EEE), Embedded Systems, VLSI, or a closely related technical field as specified in the posting.
