Job Title

Senior Staff — Data Converters Mixed-Signal Lead (MSIP)

Role Summary

Lead design, verification, and silicon bring-up of mixed-signal IP blocks (data converters, PLLs, related MSIP) for radio transceivers and SoCs. Work on system definition, circuit design, post-silicon validation and cross-domain integration within the RFA Connectivity organization focused on Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, UWB and related connectivity technologies.

This role is based in Bangalore and provides technical leadership and mentorship across small project teams while collaborating with RF, digital and system engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level engineer. Qualcomm requests candidates with substantial industry experience; the role overview expects ~10+ years of experience. Minimum qualifications in the source list alternate experience thresholds tied to academic degree (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include ownership across the full MSIP design lifecycle and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Lead MSIP circuit design from system specification through silicon validation and debug.
  • Define system architecture and perform design trade-offs for performance, power, and cost.
  • Execute circuit design, simulation, and verification; oversee layout and documentation for MSIP blocks.
  • Drive post-silicon bring-up, validation, and debug activities.
  • Collaborate closely with RF, digital, and system teams to integrate MSIP with transceivers and SoCs.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and manage small project teams where applicable.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor products to inform MSIP technology choices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details are summarized separately under Education Requirements).

  • Proven experience designing high-speed/high-performance MSIPs such as ADCs (including high-bandwidth ADCs), DACs, and PLLs.
  • Proficiency with analog design flows and tools: Cadence ADE, Virtuoso XL, Spectre.
  • Experience with verification and simulation; familiarity with Verilog / Verilog-AMS and MATLAB.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces between MSIP and digital subsystems.
  • Strong silicon debugging and post-silicon validation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver design excellence across the lifecycle.
  • Preferred: experience with high sampling-rate SAR ADCs, advanced technology nodes, and multi-domain integration (RF, analog, digital).

Education Requirements

Source specifies one of the following educational paths (or equivalent experience): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 5+ years; OR PhD in those fields with 4+ years. The role overview additionally targets senior candidates (≈10+ years experience).
