Senior Staff Coherent DSP Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Staff Applications Engineer responsible for customer-facing technical leadership for Marvells coherent optical DSP solutions. The role partners with customers, internal analog/DSP/systems/optical/software teams, and hardware manufacturers to enable design-in, validation, and production deployment at hyperscaler and cloud scale.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical background: 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree, or 3+ years with a Masters/PhD.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical customer engagement, drive-to-resolution for complex issues, and cross-functional coordination to deliver production deployments.

• Act as Marvells primary technical contact for key customers integrating coherent DSP solutions.
• Own customer success end-to-end: design-in, bring-up, validation, and production deployment.
• Lead complex technical issue resolution with urgency to meet customer timelines and protect revenue.
• Coordinate across analog, DSP, systems, optical, and software teams to remove engineering roadblocks.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to influence product and design decisions.
• Support scale-out and scale-across optical architecture deployments for AI and cloud platforms.

Must-have:

• Deep knowledge of DSP fundamentals and analog/mixed-signal circuits applied to high-speed optical communications.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed signal characterization and electro-optic component measurement techniques.
• Proven ability to lead technical customer interactions and build trust with engineering customers.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with coherent optical communications and optical DSPs.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
• Prior experience working with hyperscalers or large cloud/AI customers.
• Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites in Silicon Valley and worldwide.

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Masters or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
