Senior Staff Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Lead customer-facing integration and application of Marvell SerDes IP across customer platforms. Focus areas include DSP algorithm optimization, mixed-signal circuit interaction, bench debug, validation, and providing technical guidance to customers and internal teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level; 5+ years of relevant experience in SerDes IP, DSP development, or mixed-signal circuit design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer support, IP optimization, debugging, and validation.
- Engage with customers to gather technical requirements and guide SerDes IP integration.
- Provide hands-on technical support during design, board bring-up, and deployment.
- Optimize DSP algorithms and mixed-signal circuits to meet performance and reliability targets.
- Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and signal-integrity investigations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and deliver training for customers and internal teams.
- Develop and execute validation test cases and generate verification reports.
- Collaborate with product management, design engineering, and quality assurance teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills; nice-to-have items noted where applicable.
- 5+ years working with SerDes IP, high-speed serial interfaces, or equivalent system-level experience.
- Proven experience in DSP algorithm design and implementation (equalization, filtering, error correction).
- Extensive mixed-signal circuit experience (PLLs, ADCs, DACs, high-speed analog front-ends).
- Familiarity with EDA tools for mixed-signal design and verification (for example, Cadence, Synopsys).
- Experience using lab equipment for signal-integrity analysis and debugging (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
- Expertise with Ethernet and PCIe protocols and electrical compliance test measurements.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; Ph.D. is a plus.
