Job Title

Senior Staff Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of Marvell's Broadband Analog group responsible for design and validation of FinFET CMOS and BiCMOS circuits for high-speed broadband optical and electrical receiver and transmitter ICs.

Work includes circuit design for data-center and telecom physical-layer applications, post-silicon validation, qualification, and transition to volume production.

Experience Level

Senior — expects substantial industry experience. Typical guidance: BSc in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years' industry experience, or MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years' industry experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, verification, and handoff of high-speed analog/mixed-signal building blocks and supporting validation and production activities.

  • Design high-performance broadband analog and mixed-signal circuits for electrical and optical receiver and transmitter front ends.
  • Design supporting analog blocks such as linear regulators, AGC loops, current/voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
  • Develop input/output matching networks, TIAs, and drivers for high-speed links.
  • Participate in chip tapeout, laboratory evaluation, post-silicon debug, qualification, and manufacturing transition.
  • Collaborate with system, layout, test, and product teams to meet performance and production targets.
  • Prepare documentation, presentations, and customer support materials.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience relevant to broadband analog IC design:

  • Strong knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
  • Hands-on experience designing CMOS broadband analog circuits (RX/TX front ends, matching networks, TIAs, drivers).
  • Proven experience with chip tapeout and lab evaluation of high-performance transmitters or receivers.
  • Experience with IC design and simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS, and Matlab.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with silicon photonics, VCSELs, EAMs, MZMs, BiCMOS processes, or FinFET-specific analog techniques.

Education Requirements

BSc in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of industry experience, or MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience (as stated in the posting).
