Job Title
Senior Staff Analog Layout Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and optimize analog/mixed-signal IC layouts to meet performance, matching, and noise requirements for high-reliability products used in data centers and servers. Work within a product engineering team with support from tools and process engineers.
Role includes physical layout, floorplanning, parasitic extraction and verification, and collaboration with circuit designers to tune performance. The position follows a hybrid work model with two remote days per week and in-office days Tuesday–Thursday.
Experience Level
Senior — requires demonstrated experience; posting specifies 3+ years in analog layout design.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Perform analog layout design for mixed-signal and analog IP using commercial CAD (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso).
- Create and optimize floorplans to meet performance and area targets.
- Perform parasitic extraction (PEX) and run simulation-based verification.
- Optimize layouts for matching, shielding, and noise mitigation.
- Run DRC/LVS checks and implement required fixes.
- Collaborate with circuit designers to tune and validate performance.
- Work on products including general-purpose ICs for data centers/servers, power ICs, interface ICs, and high-precision digital power monitors.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 3+ years of practical experience in analog circuit layout design.
- Experience with layout CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso.
- Practical understanding and experience with physical verification flows (DRC, LVS, PEX).
- Basic analog circuit knowledge (op amps, comparators, ADC/DAC, power circuits).
- Understanding of layout techniques for matching, shielding, and noise mitigation.
- Japanese: business level; English: reading and writing.
Nice-to-have:
- Layout experience in advanced process nodes or BCD processes.
- Layout experience for power ICs or high-speed interface ICs.
- ESD protection circuit layout experience.
- Analog circuit simulation experience (Spectre) related to layout analysis.
- Experience working in Linux-based environments.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
