Job Title
Senior Staff Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit blocks and systems from specification through silicon characterization. The role interfaces with digital, firmware, verification, layout and test teams and supports production and customer-facing technical activities.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of experience in analog CMOS integrated circuit design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system- and block-level design, verification, characterization and cross-functional support.
- Top-level system design: specification analysis, system optimization (approx. 25%).
- Analog block design: specification, design, verification and production support (approx. 25%).
- Design optimization, verification, technical documentation, and layout supervision (approx. 20%).
- Silicon lab evaluation, characterization and silicon debug (approx. 10%).
- Block and system modeling and mixed-signal behavioral model development (approx. 5%).
- Provide technical support to test, product and application engineers (approx. 10%).
- Collaborate with digital, firmware, verification, layout and cross-functional teams (approx. 5%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; desirable skills listed separately.
-
Must-have: 7+ years experience in analog CMOS integrated circuit design.
-
Must-have: Strong analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
-
Must-have: Solid experience designing transistor-level CMOS analog and mixed-signal blocks and systems (ADCs, DACs, sensor interfaces, switched-capacitor, power management, LDOs, bandgaps, biasing, amplifiers, oscillators, PLLs, comparators, filters, physical I/Os).
-
Must-have: In-depth knowledge of analog/mixed-signal trade-offs (speed, power, noise, mismatch, linearity, stability, area).
-
Must-have: Proficiency with IC design CAD tools: schematic entry, SPICE and mixed-mode simulation tools.
-
Must-have: Experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters) and measurement techniques.
-
Must-have: Ability to work independently, follow through, and collaborate in teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with high-resolution, low-power ADC architectures and techniques.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/AFS, Siemens Symphony, MATLAB, and hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience developing analog/mixed-signal behavioral models and verification.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience in consumer and/or ITA market circuit development.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or higher.
