Senior Staff Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior analog design engineer responsible for designing, simulating, and optimizing analog building blocks used in SERDES, DDR, and memory IP. Work within an analog IP team that collaborates with product, layout, and verification teams to deliver integrated analog solutions.

Position is available in Ottawa, ON or Mississauga, ON; role is on-site.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. Typical experience guidance from the posting: PhD with 6+ years or M.A.Sc. with 8+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience.

Responsibilities

Design, simulate, verify, and optimize analog circuits; provide technical leadership.

• Design and develop common analog building blocks for SERDES, DDR, and memory applications.
• Run simulations and verification to confirm designs meet specifications.
• Optimize circuits for power, area, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, layout, and verification teams to meet customer and integration requirements.
• Perform design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to design methodologies and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• Must-have: Hands-on experience with op-amps, current mirrors, and bandgap circuits.
• Must-have: Proficiency with analog CAD and simulation tools.
• Must-have: Knowledge of layout effects (matching, proximity) and experience interfacing with layout teams.
• Must-have: Understanding of design-for-reliability concerns (EM, IR, aging).
• Must-have: Experience with FinFET and Gate-All-Around (GAA) technologies.
• Must-have: Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with SERDES PHY architecture and/or DDR memory design.

Education Requirements

Requires an M.A.Sc. with 8+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience.
