Senior Staff Analog Design Engineer
SynopsysJob Title
Senior Staff Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver analog circuits for high-speed mixed-signal PHYs used in AI, data center, and 5G applications. Work across circuit design, post-layout verification, silicon bring-up, and cross-functional integration with layout, digital, and system teams.
Lead design blocks, drive design reviews, and mentor junior engineers within the Vietnam analog design team.
Experience Level
Senior-level - typically requires 8+ years of relevant analog mixed-signal design experience and 3+ years leading design teams or owning full design blocks.
Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end analog block delivery and integration into PHY products.
- Design analog circuits for high-speed IO blocks (CTLE, FFE, TCOIL, DFE), PLLs, DLLs, bandgap references, clock trees, and calibration circuits for UCIe and die-to-die PHYs.
- Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure design intent is preserved and perform post-layout verification to confirm performance.
- Analyze and resolve signal integrity, power integrity, noise, and margin issues in complex mixed-signal systems.
- Work with digital and system engineers to integrate analog blocks and run mixed-signal verification.
- Architect testchips, develop test cases, and perform silicon bring-up and lab validation.
- Lead global design reviews and mentor junior engineers on design, layout collaboration, and verification practices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- 8+ years hands-on experience designing high-speed mixed-signal PHY circuits with a track record of tapeouts and silicon validation.
- 3+ years leading design teams, managing projects, or owning full design blocks from specification through silicon.
- Deep understanding of analog circuit design fundamentals including noise analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, and layout effects.
- Practical experience collaborating with layout teams and performing post-layout verification.
- Strong English communication skills for presenting design reviews and producing documentation.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with academic research or publishing.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electromechanics, or Telecommunications.
