Senior Staff Analog Circuit Design Engineer - SerDes

Role Summary

Lead post-silicon functional validation and debugging for SerDes mixed-signal IP. Define and execute validation strategy, build validation frameworks and infrastructure, and collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to resolve complex mixed-signal issues and ensure product reliability and performance.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing post-silicon validation and driving methodological improvements.

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive functional validation plans for SerDes IP.
  • Create and improve validation frameworks and workflows; integrate with cross-functional teams for optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Perform systematic root-cause analysis and debugging of mixed-signal design failures and functional issues.
  • Build and maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure, tools, and status reporting.
  • Prepare detailed validation reports documenting tests, findings, and recommended improvements.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to refine validation and debugging processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in mixed-signal or analog hardware validation.
  • 2+ years of SerDes post-silicon validation and debug experience.
  • Experience with I/O principles and mixed-signal testing methodologies.
  • Experience in test planning, validation strategy formulation, and post-silicon validation workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience performing root-cause analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining validation infrastructure and test automation.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with electrical validation and debugging of 224G+ SerDes IP.
  • Programming experience (Python, C, C++).

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline is stated as the baseline. Preferred: post-graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
