Job Title

Senior Staff Analog and Mixed Signal Engineer

Role Summary

Lead mixed-signal verification and validation for high-speed optical receiver and driver ICs in the Broadband Analog group. Work with design, layout, and system teams to verify functionality, performance, and reliability across multiple process technologies.

Primary focus is verification planning, testbench development, test execution, analysis, and cross-functional issue resolution for TIAs, drivers, and silicon photonics/electro-absorption/MZI modulator interfaces.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting indicates 4–8 years of relevant experience; the role title denotes senior/staff responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include mixed-signal verification planning and execution.

  • Develop and implement mixed-signal verification plans based on architecture and specifications.
  • Design and develop verification testbenches using industry-standard languages and methodologies.
  • Write and execute test cases to verify mixed-signal circuits for functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Review and analyze verification results and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
  • Maintain documentation of verification plans, test results, and design changes.
  • Collaborate with design and layout teams to identify and resolve design issues.
  • Work with various technologies and process nodes, including SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills followed by preferred skills.

  • Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design and verification principles.
  • Experience with EDA/CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso/SimVision or Synopsys Custom Compiler.
  • Deep knowledge of analog fundamentals: transistor-level modeling/design, control/feedback loop stability, AGC loops, high-precision analog blocks (linear regulators, current sensors, bandgaps, DAC/ADC), and RF/high-speed broadband techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and hardware description languages (Verilog, Verilog-A, SystemVerilog).
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, analytical, documentation, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Organizational skills to track specification compliance and verification results.
  • Nice to have: project experience with SiGe BiCMOS process technology.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required; Master of Science preferred. Fields: high-performance analog/mixed-signal design and verification or related technical disciplines. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
