Job Title

Senior Software Test Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Calibre Semi-Manufacturing QA OPC Team to ensure the quality and reliability of Calibre Semi-Manufacturing products. You will design, develop, and execute functional, performance, and regression tests and work with development, product engineering, and marketing to deliver production-ready software.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ensuring product quality, building automation, and validating performance at scale.

  • Define comprehensive test plans from early R&D through production releases and maintenance patches.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and custom internal testing tools to increase coverage and reproducibility.
  • Build and run performance and scalability benchmarks (throughput, memory) across large-scale distributed Unix/Linux grid environments.
  • Investigate defects via log analysis, create reproducible test cases for R&D, and own defect lifecycle until resolution.
  • Maintain and execute regression suites and Golden Baseline verification.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate across global R&D teams for sprint delivery.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required for immediate contribution; a short list of preferred additions follows.

  • Must-have: Minimum 3 years of hands-on software testing/QA experience.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience testing EDA tools or computational lithography simulation software.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in Python and Shell/Bash/TCL scripting for automation and data parsing.
  • Must-have: Solid experience in Unix/Linux environments and CI/CD/version control workflows (Git/CVS).
  • Must-have: Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP, modular design, data structures, algorithm optimization.
  • Must-have: Test planning, exploratory testing, boundary value analysis, regression testing, and strong communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA-specific technologies/languages (OPC, SVRF, TVF).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with performance benchmarking on distributed Grid systems.
  • Nice-to-have: ISTQB certification.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience or strong interest in applying Generative AI, Large Language Models, or agentic AI frameworks to testing and automated test generation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is specified. ISTQB certification is listed as a plus.
