Senior Software QA/Test Engineer
Role Summary
Validate and verify Lattice's Radiant FPGA software platform, focusing on GUI and Tcl-based workflows and the design compilation flow. Work with software developers and product stakeholders to ensure functional correctness, regression stability, and acceptable performance for customer workflows.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 8 years of experience in software quality assurance, validation, or testing with significant exposure to HDL and FPGA toolchains.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test planning, execution, automation, and defect management for the Radiant software platform.
- Validate FPGA compilation and design flows across GUI and Tcl-based environments.
- Develop, maintain and enhance test plans and test cases for functional, integration, regression and performance testing.
- Design, implement and execute automated and manual test cases for the software platform.
- Analyze test coverage and improve test scenarios to meet quality objectives.
- Investigate, reproduce and document defects; coordinate with development teams to drive timely resolution.
- Review and analyze feature requirements with stakeholders to derive test scope.
- Contribute to test automation initiatives using scripting, GUI automation frameworks and AI-assisted tools.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and desirable qualifications.
- Minimum 8 years in software QA, validation or test engineering for software products.
- Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog and VHDL to evaluate HDL-related tool behavior.
- Hands-on scripting experience with Python and Tcl for test development and automation.
- Experience with software test automation, regression testing and continuous integration practices.
- Familiarity with GUI testing and GUI automation frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Squish or similar GUI testing tools, prior work on FPGA compilation tools, and experience applying AI techniques to automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
