Job Title
Senior Software Product Manager - Embedded & Real-Time Systems (Automotive)
Role Summary
Own the low-level software stack for next-generation automotive real-time processing and drive roadmap, strategy, and execution across drivers, firmware, security, and BSP. Ensure alignment from silicon to system integration to enable system bring-up, software quality, and scalable customer deployment in Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) architectures.
Experience Level
Senior. The role requires significant senior-level experience; the posting specifies 10+ years in embedded software, automotive systems, or a related field.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on product ownership, system bring-up, cross-functional leadership, execution, and customer engagement.
- Define, execute, and own the product roadmap for low-level real-time software: drivers (RTD), BSP, RTOS, virtualization/isolation, boot and firmware services, PMIC control, and security features (secure boot, crypto, key management).
- Translate OEM and Tier 1 requirements into product features and priorities; balance timelines, quality, performance, safety, security, and scalability.
- Drive system bring-up activities: boot and power sequencing, peripheral enablement (CAN, LIN, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet), firmware, and safety/security frameworks.
- Promote and enable AI-assisted tools across the software lifecycle and AI-driven customer/developer workflows.
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Software R&D, Applications Engineering, and Product & Systems Engineering; manage dependencies and ownership.
- Own delivery through pre-silicon bring-up, NPI, customer deployment, and maintenance; track system readiness, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Engage OEMs and Tier 1 partners to gather feedback, represent low-level software in customer discussions, and drive simplification to accelerate adoption and design wins.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills, plus preferred qualifications.
-
Must-have: 10+ years in embedded software, automotive systems, or related field.
-
Must-have: Strong background in low-level software: drivers, bootloaders, firmware, BSP; familiarity with AUTOSAR, RTOS, or Zephyr.
-
Must-have: Experience in product management, technical leadership, or system architecture and solid understanding of HW/SW integration and system bring-up challenges.
-
Must-have: Customer-facing experience with OEMs or Tier 1s and ability to translate feedback into product improvements.
-
Preferred: Experience with automotive SoCs or industrial systems; familiarity with functional safety and automotive security standards.
-
Preferred: Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21434 or HSE, CI/CD and OTA-based software delivery, and experience enabling AI-assisted development tools.
Education Requirements
