Senior - minimum ~5 years relevant experience; 8+ years strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include translating customer and ecosystem needs into software/system solutions and coordinating software strategy across platforms.
- Analyze customer requirements and product architectures to define SoC software and system-level solutions.
- Serve as software-focused product application owner for Video SoC stack: boot flow, BSP, SDK, middleware.
- Evaluate and validate firmware and system architecture proposals; assess feasibility, risks, and maintainability.
- Coordinate with other Camera/Video SoC product managers to align Linux versioning, kernel maintenance approach, and SDK interfaces.
- Define where cross-SoC software consistency is required and where platform divergence is necessary.
- Consolidate product and competitor benchmarking data and produce analytical reports to drive performance and differentiation.
- Support customer-facing technical activities and periodic travel (approximately four times per year).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- At least 5 years of relevant product/application experience (8+ years preferred) working with embedded firmware or system software.
- Hands-on experience or equivalent technical depth in embedded Linux-based systems and Linux subsystems.
- Strong ability to independently assess firmware constraints, implementation risks, and system-level trade-offs.
- Experience with programming and debugging in languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java (practical exposure expected).
- Analytical problem-solving skills and strong cross-functional communication.
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technical references to validate firmware designs and architectural assumptions.
- Nice-to-have: prior collaboration across multiple Camera/Video SoC platforms, familiarity with multimedia pipelines, ISP, camera sensors, and video frameworks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is cited; Master's and PhD are listed as alternatives. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree. Specific minimum combinations cited: Bachelor's + ~2+ years software applications/development experience; OR Master's + ~1+ year; OR PhD. The posting also expects 1+ year of academic and/or work experience with programming languages and 1+ year with debugging techniques.
